Mitt Romney hasn’t always come across well in English. President Obama’s campaign is betting he does even worse in Spanish
On Monday, the Service Employees International Union announced it was joining with the pro-Obama PAC Priorities USA Action for a $4 million Spanish-language ad campaign. The theme is “Mitt Romney: En Sus Propias Palabras,” or “Mitt Romney: In His Own Words.” The ads are set to run this summer on television and radio in Colorado, Nevada and Florida.
These spots are designed to highlight how out of touch the former Bain Capital executive is by featuring Latino reactions to some of Mr. Romney’s statements. The Nevada ad, for example, shows a clip of Mr. Romney saying “I’m unemployed too.” It’s followed by a Latina commenting in Spanish, “Says a lot about his character. He probably won’t do much for those without jobs.”
